We hit a nice stride this week! With a baby, that means next week will be a rough one, but I've found that by number three, there are so many other things to distract me, so poor sleep, or fussiness just aren't quite the problems they were the first time around.
Ivan is now rolling both ways - belly to back, and vice versa. He loves it. He'll now woller all around in his crib. Flip over, flip back. Scrunch around. I never know what I'll find. Now that he's figured it out, this actually makes for better sleeping. He can get into his own comfortable. Instead of just staying however I lay him down. He's also found his fingers. I guess he's going to be a two finger sucker. So we had one thumb sucker, one who never did anything, and now a finger sucker.
I've been trying the bottle out with him everyday this week, and he's like a pro now. Something clicked. My mom and dad will be glad as they are watching him this weekend. That's right. It will be my first overnight away. 2 nights. Again, baby 3.
After our busy weekend away, we stayed put at home all Monday and Tuesday. We're learning about Jesus Feeding the 5000 this week, and focused on the food we eat. He was surprised to find out that his Easter candy didn't fit into one the healthy food groups. But it is so good.
We also spent some time outside on Tuesday, as I worked on pulling weeds out of my soon to be flower bed. Amos seemed to all of the sudden realize that there were bugs everywhere and began to flip out. Silas, who is already a little parinoid, really caught on to the bug flip out and soon I had to screaming boys on my hands. We need to get out more. "But they can sting us, Mom." You're bigger. Smash it. Now, Silas goes around saying "smash ants?"
Amos is very attached to his little dog named Pluto. He accidently left him at Grammy and Gramps, and luckily he has a stand in this week. He loves Monkey too.
Silas is still pretty ok with doing whatever Amos does. However, he definitely makes more stops in my lap, needing some love. Every so often, he'll get a little jealous of Ivan, but for the most part, he loves playing with him and being "gentle."
Wednesday we got out and enjoyed the nice weather with some friends. The boys enjoyed exploring the Dixons big yard, and Casey and I had fun catching up. Thursday brought more time with friends and a quick run to the store with all three. Now that Ivan is up for longer periods of time, we have a bigger window to do this. They were all good, but I am sure glad I didn't have much to buy.
We're ready for fun weekend number 2. Dad took the day off today and we'll be headed to Kansas to drop the boys off. Then we'll continue on to Tulsa. They're pretty excited. We're pretty excited. It's going to be a good weekend. Let's just hope everyone can walk when its over.
