Our past weekend started out right. With a long run for Mom and Dad courtesy of Sarah Corcoran. The weather was perfect for running and for playing outside. Come nap time, we were all worn out.
That evening we did some yard work while the boys played around us. We were tempted to burn our brush pile, but it was getting late, and we knew that it would take a while to burn everything off.
So instead we enjoyed our dinner on the deck and reward ice-cream for a succcesful 10 mile run.
We visited a new church on Sunday. This was our first time venturing out since the close of our church home. It was hard, and different, but good. Again, we trust that the Lord has good for us in this.
After church, we had the Nguyens, and Catherine over for lunch, which turned into buring the brush pile together, which turned into dinner. Those are the best type of days. We soaked it all up and the boys, of course, love playing with Chrissy.
Ivan was had to be a real trooper during the first part of the week. On Monday morning, we were all out of the house by 8:45am to run a bunch of errands. We then met up for a playdate with friends.
Tuesday brought the same. He didn't get too many long naps, but he did catnap OK in his carseat.
We (Mom) was ready to be at home on Wednesday and play some catch-up. It's fun to have Ivan up longer, because we get alot more brother time in that way.
Ivan's still been consistently sleeping 12 hours at night and is taking 4 naps during the day. His first two naps of the day are pretty good ones, and the second two are fairly short.
He's spent most of the week working on reaching out and grabbing things. "If you get close enough, I'll put you in my mouth." With a little support behind his back, he'll keep himself sitting and playing with toys. He loves to be tickled and giggles up a storm.
His spitting up has slowed down a little bit. It's been replaced by drool. Thanks Rachel for he cutest little bibs ever. They are being put to good use.
We've been focusing on Jesus' last week together as a family. Our prayer is that even when they don't understand everything, the TRUTH will sink deep into their hearts and begin to grow. Plus, that Jesus Story Bible gets me everytime.
Amos has been asking a lot of good questions. He loves to learn, and know, and then explain it to you. He's got a reason for everything.
Silas is content to listen, but he always wants in on any action, and his turn. If Amos is doing it, he is too. In fact, he ate his sandwich un-cut yesterday, "like Amos". He's so literal and needs everything to be right.
These two being so close in age hasn't always been the easiest, but it definitely has been fun! Now they go off and do their own thing that I might not even hear from them for 30 mintues to an hour. Mom time! By the way, this is their "beating up Thunder" face and outfit. They hit it with their footballs.
We've got a full weekend ahead of us, but it's a long one! Can't wait to see all our family and celebrate the joy of Easter together!
