my three little men: week 44

We had quite an eventful weekend, We were blessed with beautiful weather and lots of help to put a new roof on our house last weekend. The boys and I enjoyed the time outside too! Nana helped keep us company and cheered on the men on the roof.

This is my favorite way to keep a 10 month old contained while outside. I think Silas might have swung for an hour. No joke. Nana was a good pusher.

After our busy weekend, we had a nice slow week. Our days were filled with the gym, pre-school and lots of time outside.

Someone is stretching his limits. He's all over the place. I don't think that the other guys were quite this busy at his age. But who knows?

We followed Daddy out on to the trail. Amos tried his hardest to keep up with Daddy. He's got the determination, just not long enough legs.

Our Thursday was brightened by a PAT event at Block Petting Farm. It was delightful. Animals everywhere and, willing to be pet and eager to be fed. Amos was all about it, as always, and Silas was a little more timid, as always. However, I was so proud of him. He was willing to feed everyone of them, even though he was shaking all over.

We saved the best for the end. The pony ride.

We ended the week with a trip to the library and then lunch at the park. This guy loves the swings. Can't you tell?

Mr. Handsome. He's getting so old.

Mr. Serious was working hard on pumping his legs. He's learned to get himself going, higher and higher. He's constantly learning something new!

ivan jude: 10 months

Well that one definitely snuck up on me. About 4 pm yesterday afternoon, I looked at my watch and said, "Ivan, you're 10 months old. Now stop it."

10 for 10

1. He's got one tooth on the top and he looks so silly and so cute!

2. I've been putting shoes on him lately. At first he had no idea what this new thing on his foot was, but I think he's kinda getting used to it.

3. Last month he started pulling up and this month he is crusin all around everything. Next month...walking?

4. He's learning how to express a new emotion: I'm MAD! And he's good at it.

5. Favorite food: mushy bananas. The mushier the better!

6. He can call us (Mom and Dad) by our names! And I think he may have the word ball. That wouldn't be a surprise, as ball was both of his brother's first words too.

7. Favorite game: to drop things. A close second: to chew on it.

8. We moved him to the rear facing convertible carseat. Everyone got bumped up one,

9. As his hair is getting longer, it's starting to get a curl to it. It's also a lot lighter than any of the other boys.

10. He's got about 4 ways to crawl and he switches back and forth between them all.

my three little men: week 43 + labor day

This is going to be a big one.  Lots of pictures.  We had quite the weekend.  But first, here's this guy.  As cute as ever.  Modeling a comb over.  Top tooth number two has been causing a fuss this week, but hoping it's almost here.  Other than that, this guy has been his usual charmer.  And all kinds of ornery.

Our LONG weekend started at the lake.  One last time before the summer ended.  The weather was perfect.  The water was perfect.  We all enjoyed every last bit of it.  Amos rode the tube for a total of 8 hours, I think. (JK) But he loved that thing.  I think it helped that an older cousin was down and loved it too.  Lots of cousin love this weekend.

Someone else got in on the lake.  But watch that one.  He thinks he is a fish.

We then stole away to a wedding and left the kiddos with Grammy and Gramps!

After picking them up the next day, we headed for Chanute to check out the Parks' new digs.  And celebrate Pricilla's 3rd Birthday!

Dad stayed behind and worked at the house with Papa.  They found a bigger problem than they expected, so we stayed another night at my parents house.

Even with all the excitement, we managed to squeeze in some school.  We learned about Noah - building boats, trusting God, what it's like to be on water, a God's promise with a rainbow.

one year later

This weekend we celebrated one year in our house.  How did we celebrate?  The boys and I were visiting family in Kansas and Jason was at the house working.  A bit reminiscent of this time laster year.  And as the project has gotten bigger and bigger, it is becoming a little too reminiscent.  In fact, we are putting on a new roof this weekend.  That big.

None the less, we have loved our year at this house.  Even in the midst of projects, we love the location, the space and sharing it with others.  And we've sure learned a lot.

The outside hasn't seen much improvement in the year, except removing the sailboats from the shutters and planting a few things.  Maybe we'll tackle it this year.
