my three little men: week 41

We officially start home preschool next week, but have been doing some school this week. Mainly because Amos has been asking to start since the beginning of August. He loves it. I love it. Everyone is happy. Oh and he LOVES worksheets. "Mom, I love doing this type of school." A boy after my own heart.

Silas....welll. "Well" is his favorite word this week. He has a lot to say about things and he wants to make sure he gets it out right. He starts most sentences with "well". He also tends to be a little indecisive. We take turns choosing the tv show. Si takes a little longer. Si's been doing some school with us too. The change a summer makes in a 2 almost 3 year old is amazing. He's become quite the student. Major improvements in the gluing and cutting department

We strategically choose to school while the Ivan Monster is sleeping, because he would be in on that business. His mobility has been wreaking havoc on the older boys' plans this week. We've got some learning ahead of us.

He's got one top tooth and is working on the other. The first one was a bear. But this one seems to not be causing as much pain.

Our new baby gate is installed. No more falling down steps! They are still his favorite place to be though. Gotta keep an eye on that one. He's been finding all kinds of new places.

Before the week started, we celebrating Gramps birthday in Altamont with our family. I think you can tell what some of his favorite things are.

Lots of doors and windows open this last weekend and attic fan on! There is hope that fall is coming! Don't let me down now Missouri.
There are those teeth. Someone loves to swing.
Amos checked out a Hulk book at the library this week. Once home, he quickly became the Hulk!
And here's Silas' awkard Middle School picture. But, he CAN palm the ball.

my three little men: week 40

The big 4-0. How'd that happen so fast? In 12 short week, he'll be one... Slow down baby boy. I could keep him here for a while. He's pretty darn sweet these days. And, oh, so cute!

Smiling at his brothers! He's always got smiles for them. Until someone bonks him on the head. He's going to be a tough one.

Some America Ninga Warrior at the Park Sunday night.

Monday started with Daddy back to work and everyone health!y! We spent a lot of the week getting back into a new rhythm of things. Soon we'll be starting up preschool at home with Amos, and we're both SUPER excited about it.

We had quite a bit going on in our first week. We all went in for Ivan's 9 month check-up on Tuesday. This was a fun one because it didn't invovle any shots! He did great and he looks great!

I've enjoyed running around and doing things with these boys this week. They've been very well-behaved and fun to have along. We even made a big shopping trip to Alid after the gym on Friday. We were OUT of food, so there wasn't much of another option. But it was a joy!
Thursday was full of fun with our cousins. They are in the process of moving, so we got to hang out with the three girls all day long. Nobody seemed to mind. And the weather!!!! Thank you Jesus for those wonderful days! Fall.IS.COMING!
Ivan's not upset with Clara in this picture. But it was too funny not to post. I think I have a very similar picture of Silas and Cilla...
On Friday we also hit up the Library. Getting some books for school and letting Amos learn how to check out his own. Silas enjoyed the play section. The best part was getting to read our new books with Daddy when he came home!

my three little men: week 39

So it was another long week with more sickness. Amos tagged Jason, who came down with the junk on Monday, and Jason tagged me. Isn't that how it always works? But guess what? Ivan didn't get it. I thought he did, but it was just a day of low fever which I think was actually due to a new top tooth!

The whole week wasn't an entire wash though. We started it at the lake, so that's something.

Grammy's always the one in the water!
Ivan got in on some lake action. It was the perfect day.

Too bad for Dad, he spent the day in the cabin. We didn't realize how bad off he was until we were already down at the lake.

This one can't be stopped. He needs to be where the action is and he'll find a way to do it too!
Don't mind me. Just making my way up the stairs. Going down didn't go as well. We decided it was time to get a baby gate for our bottom steps after...
...this happen as a result of the make-shift solution failing. We're glad that's all that happened.
This guy got super big all of the sudden and is dressing himself. He's been putting his clothes on witb a little help for a while now, but this week he's been doing it all on his own. Going upstairs, picking out an outfit (this shirt made two appearances this week) and putting it on. He's so proud. So am I.

Alot of this happened this week. And I love it!
They were playing a duet. Maybe one day.
And here was Dad a good chunk of the week. That is, after he was feeling good enough to make it out of the bedroom. And I would later join him.
We ended the week sending him off to work. It was definitley a bit of a sad moment. We can't complain though, after the great summer we had. Now back to reality and routine.
It's not all bad. We Dad is gone during the day, there has to be uninterrupted play time after work. Lots of fighting was taking place in this picture. And this year, they have a new side-kick. The Ivan Monster. He loved it.
