weekend recap: silver dollar city

It's Monday morning and we're coming down from our weekend high. We're taking it real slow this Monday and someone has been sleeping for the last 2 1/2 hours.

Fun weekends make Monday a little bit hardier, but are always worth it.

We hit the road early on Saturday and stopped for donuts on the way. The boys seem to do so much better during a long early morning drive than one later in the day. They are fresh with anticipation. The older two entertained themselves for most of the way. Ivan napped and Jason and I conversed. It was a great way to start a Saturday.

After waiting in the horrendous line to park. We were ready to get out and enjoy the park. Lots of other people were too. SDC was on everyone's list for the first beautiful weekend in May.

Amos walked most of the time, but occasionally jumped on for a ride.

But that didn't keep us from being excited to meet up with some friends from college and enjoy the park together. Nate was Jason's longtime friend and bestman in our wedding. Him and his wife Kristina have two beautiful girls. Amos now refers to Katelyn as his new friend. They definitely hit it off.

The Penlands introduced us to some new areas of the park that will definitely be on the list. The carosel and the tree house were a hit. Amos still may need to warm up to the Flooded Mine.

We were able to catch up quite a bit while the kiddos soaked themselves at the splash pads and then again over dinner at Chick-fil-A.

The boys zonked out on the ride home. Like always, we can't wait to go back.
