my three little men: week 25

Everyone was healthy ALL week long. It was nice to have a nice un-eventful week. Our highlights were a Mother's Day Parents-As-Teachers event at the mall. It invovled a walk through the mall, cookie cake and Orange Julius. We visisted the mall play area and ended with Chick-fil-A! Yum.

We also joined in on a Wednesday night open house for one of the church's we've been visiting. The time was encouraging and refreshing. It's hard to get a full picture of a church from just a Sunday service. Spending time with people help the process along. And the boys loved it. It may have helped that it involved a ride in a golf cart to go look at cows!

Ivan has been transitioning the the 4 hours schedule. It's funny how the signs that made me think he was ready we're the fact that he was waking up early from every nap. He was ready for a longer wake time and the four hour schedule. It some ways it feels like we have arrived. 4 feedings a day is nothing! He's been napping great too!

I still can't say for sure, but I think his amber necklace has been helping with teething pain. Those little teeth are about ready to peek through so he's in the thick of it. One day I left the necklace off of him all day. I didn't realize it because we were out of the house, but I kept thinking how odd that he was being more fussy than normal. Only later did I realize that he wasn't wearing the necklace.

He's been a pro at eating baby food this week. So far he's had baby cereal, applesauce, green beans, and pears. He's loved it all. I was really hoping to hold off on baby food, but I think it has been what's made it so easy to move to the 4-hour schedule. Plus he's very aware of when his brothers are eating and wants to join in too.

And you know what face this is....

The boys have been doing pretty good with sharing a room. They are up earlier and asleep later than normal, but we aren't having quite the extremes that we did at first. Most of the time it's giggles and whispers. This morning I heard noise in their room starting around 6:30. My first response was definitely - ugh! But an hour later when their clock turned green, they came out hiding something from me. Apparently they were working on a Mother's Day gift for me. They made me pretend breakfast and had drawn gingerbread men on their sketch board for dessert. Amos even named all the gingerbread! How sweet? Thanks, Nyssa, for planted the idea of Mother's day in their heads.

Here's my Tarzan!
