my three little men: week 19

Isn't it so hard to break back into a routine after a break? Did that make any sense? See, that's what I'm taling about. We've been working all week to get back into a routine from the break.

Something that has helped is my 9 hours of sleep at night. That's right. For the last three nights, there has been no dreamfeed to give and I have promptly closed my eyes at 9:00 pm! With a smile on my face.

So I guess you can say Ivan learned two new skills this week: sleeping for 12 hours, and rolling. The rolling must have worn him out. Hence, the sleeping.

Other than that, our week has been fairly uneventful. I've pretty much just hibernated us at home. In fact, last night I was staring at Ivan's carseat in his room and realized it hadn't moved since the Friday before with our very eventful trip to Silver Dollar City. That's my kind of week. People did come to me though, so I'm not a total recluse.

Plus, on rainy days you are suppose to stay at home.

Here was our converstation today at breakfast. Sometimes they really surprise me.

Amos - "Mom, I'm so glad that we have a baby."

Me - "Oh yeah. What's your favorite thing about him?"

Amos - "I just like to pat him. On the head. I do that all the time."

Me - "Silas, what's your favorite thing about Ivan?"

Silas - "No, I don't like Ivan. I like toys."

Amos - "No, babies are better than toys."

Me - "That's right."

Amos - "And so are brothers."

Ivan has spent a lot of time working on his new skill. This is how it goes. I lay him on his back. He promptly turns over and then gets mad that he is on his stomach. "Who put me here?"

We miss Dad even more after a long break with him. Right now, Ivan's favorite thing is to grab Daddy's beard and never let go. It's their thing. (PS check out my new Ikea coat rack in the background!!)

Look, Mom does exist.

Amos is all about pretend superheros and bad guys. He's always ready to put on a costume.
Those eyes. That face. Yes, it is hard not to give him everything he wants.
