I don't really love to shop. It normally seems overwhelming to me and more like work than fun. But this year, thanks to Pinterest, I found this blog. She presented fashion in a whole new light to me. The biggest take-away was to create a wardrobe of inter-changeable clothes. I spent a lot of time, reading about versatile clothing and color palettes.
My next step was to try on every.single.piece of clothing in my closet. At the end, I had a large pile of give away clothes and found some of my own clothing that would work for an inter-changeable wardrobe.
I then created a list of things that I wanted to look for when shopping. The good thing was that the items were very broad - a striped shirt, a floral shirt, colored pants, bright skirt, etc. I also decided on my own color palette. I based this on the clothes that I already wore. I really like purple on myself, and green is my favorite color, so that was easy. I added orange as my accent color.
With all that work done, I was ready and excited to shop! And boy, did we shop. My sister thought I tried on an entire store. I'm really happy with what I found and all the possible outfits I can create from them.
I'm so excited that I committed to actually getting dressed up every day in April and to try to wear a different mix of outfits each day.
So, without further ado, here is the past weeks clothing choices:
Now, I'm still no fashion expert, but this is a big improvement on my normal stay-at-home-mom attire.
