silas john - week 37

If you remember, Silas spent most of the last week sick.  By Monday, Silas was feeling a lot better.  But he was not in a better mood.  He was very clingy, but wasn't even happy in our arms.   While in the midst of grumpy phases, I try to remind myself that it is just a phase and I will get my happy, content baby back, but there's always a piece of me that thinks this is the new norm.

Luckily, Thursday morning he woke up a completely different baby.  And wouldn't you know it, with a big mound for tooth two.  Teeth seems to affect Silas more than they did Amos.

Silas is moving all over the place these days.  He has some upper body strength because his method is dragging his body across the floor.  He's gotten much better are sitting up and going up on his feet, but is still not pulling up to anything yet.

He's in the baby phase where he sees miniscule pieces of something on the floor and tries to put them in his mouth.  I'm learning that I need to re-baby proof a lot of things.

Some of highlights of our week were swimming and Nana and Papa coming for a visit.  Silas tolerated swimming a lot better this time.  I think that it helped that it was so hot.

Nana and Papa showed up early Saturday morning and hung out with the boys all day.  They let us steal away to celebrated my friend Heather's wedding.  Jason and I felt like we were on a date!  We even have photobooth pictures to prove it.

Its neat that now that Silas has the ability to go where he wants, his personality is really starting to come out.  He'll go, go, go and then take a short break to lay his head on the ground and rest.  I think he still tends toward the laid back side.
