silas john - week 36

You can't tell it from the picture above, but Silas has been sick the last half of the past week.

The beginning of the week was fairly laid back.  After supplementing with a little stored, milk for the last milk feeding of the day, Silas was back to his usual wake up time, 7:30.  This gave me time before the boys got up to spend with Jesus and get ready for the day!  I'm making an effort to try to make a hot breakfast, so its nice to have that time.

Silas figured out how to move from crawling to sitting.  I think he likes this move because he does it a lot - just back and forth.  It's like he wants to prove to himself again that he can do it.

The week really started to pick up by Wednesday.  We spent that day starting to get stuff ready for Amos' birthday party before we left for the lake.  We got the whole family out a couple of times in the evening to run errands and enjoy the nice weather.  Jason didn't mind mowing in 70 degree temps either.
 What silly boys!

We had a great time at the lake for the 4th of July, but looking back, I can see how Silas was starting to show sick symptoms while there.  Mainly, he was pretty clingy which is usual for him.

Friday he woke up with a fever, ate, and wanted to go right back to sleep.  He spent most of the day asleep and if he wasn't asleep he wasn't happy.  The rest of the weekend followed suit.  Not many smiles, really weak and a low fever.  Luckily, he only had one bad night where he woke up really warm and had trouble sleeping  I did get initiated into the "hold your baby all night long" Mom club though.  Amos has yet to have a sickness that keeps him from sleeping.  I think he likes his sleep as much as his mom.

He still isn't back to himself, but he does seem to be improving.  All the cuddles have been nice, but we want our healthy, smiley boy back!

Silas traveled well to the lake and to Lebanon over the weekend.  He got to do lots of cuddling with Uncle Jeffrey and Aunt Megan, as they watched him while Jason and I stole away to a good friend's wedding.

And here's Amos at the same age:
