VBS, runny noses and music have made up most of our week. A little different type of week, but a fun one. The boys got haircuts. It always makes them look so much older.
Amos was just old enough to attend our church's Bible School. I explained what it was and asked him if he wanted to go. He face broke out in a big smile and he went to put his shoes on. I then had to explain that it wasn't for another 3 days. That's ok. He was pretty sure the school bus was going to pick him up so it was worth it. Sorry bud. Just Mom taking you.
He's had a blast attending though. He's come home able to tell me some of the highlights of the day. It's been a big deal because this is the first time we've been apart for any length of time. And I think we've both done pretty well.
Silas and and I have had some extra time together and we've been soaking that up too! He's not quite sure what to do without Amos and is always ready to pick him up. Dad made up for it today though.
Amos' other big boy adventure was hanging out on the top bunk. He's move up has been pretty seamless. One night this week, the boys were still pretty loud well past bedtime. Jason went up there and found them both in the top bunk watching out the window. He asked them what they were doing and Amos said they were watching light-up bugs. And all the cars going by. Memories.
Ivan's off-week(s) continue. He's got the runny nose along with the rest of them, so it may just be that. He's not too happy to be left a lone and having more trouble sleeping. I have trouble not wanting to fix the situation. Learning to push into the Lord during times of frustration, inconvenience, and worry. What does he have for me in this? This too shall pass.
I've said it before, but God knew what he was doing when he made babies cute and snuggly. We've been doing a lot of that. He's also happy when he's standing. He's working on pulling up to things, but loves to support himself once up.
Eating continues to be the joy of his life. He knows when people are eating and he's not participating.
Silas and Ivan had some special brother time together this week. It looked like this.
