We started the week off strong! Even though we were inside most of the day on Monday, we kept ourselves entertained by getting caught up from the weekend.
The rain didn't cancel our Tuesday's plans as we were going to a Parents As Teachers Fire Safety event. Because it was wet, Silas was content hanging out in the stroller, and Amos thoroughly enjoyed himself.
Amos is sure to point out every fire truck we see now. The firemen were great and one even answered all of Amos' "What's that?" questions.
Silas' "birthday" present came in the mail on Wednesday. I've been wanting to get the boys a nativity that's pretty and that they can play with. This one fit the bill. It was a little pricey, so we're splitting it with Silas' birthday and their Christmas. They like it already it.
They also liked the box.
Thankfully, we were able to get outside near the end of the week. Jason had parent teacher conferences both Wednesday and Thursday night. It made for a some long days.
But we had the weekend to look forward to. We left a sick Amos and a happy Silas was Nana and Papa Friday evening, and headed down to Branson for our weekend away/Jason' 25K trail run. Amos' sickness passed quickly, but Silas woke up Sunday morning with a fever too. He would get sick the week of his birthday. Doesn't that seem to always happen? We're hoping it will be just as short lived as Amos'.
We had a great time in Branson. Without the boys, we were able to have a late night coffee date. The we spent half of Saturday at Silver Dollar City and the other half at the outlet mall, followed by dinner at The Keeter Center. Sunday we got up bright and early for Jason's trail race.
He said he's ready to do it next year!
And here's Amos at the same age: they've got the same hair!
