This Christmas season is finally here! Amos keeps telling me that he wishes Christmas was every day and I couldn't agree more! We're having a ton of fun making our normal days a little more exciting with our Advent activities and Christmas traditions.
Here's our Friday Re-wind...
- Tree Hunting -
We tromped through the mud to find the perfect tree last Sunday. Finding the tree was fun, but the MUD!! Boy mom.
- Baby Appointment -
We had a whirlwind of a Monday. The gym, meeting up for school with the Corcoran's, and then a lunch date at Nyssa's. Amelia and the girls were in town because we have been strategically scheduling our baby appointments on the same day for a built in babysitter.
Everything looked great with the baby. We thought there might be a chance of finding out the gender early, but baby was not cooperating. It was moving all around and then decided to roll over and hide. Hopefully they're a little more showy at the ultrasound!
- Christmas Parade -
We've been looking forward to the Christmas parade for a while. Ever since the Maple Leaf parade, the boys have decided that they kinda like parades. Silas was most excited about the horses, but unfortunately we pooped out before they made their appearance at our end of the show. We collected just enough candy to make everyone happy and danced along with all the floats.
- Advent -
The difference a year makes in Amos' understanding of things is astounding! It seems like he's hearing and understanding the story for the first time. It helps that we've been working through the Jesus Storybook Bible since August because every story really does whisper his name. We've been waiting and now we are celebrating!
- Tree Decorating -
We finally got around to decorating our tree last night. With our other activities, we just hadn't done it yet. This was another one that was so much more fun this year. Amos kept finding ornaments that had his name on it and wanted to make sure and hang those up. He may have wanted to place them all on the exact same branch, but Mom kept secretively helping him spread them out a little.
It was Silas' year for putting the star on top! He was pretty excited about it. He took the job very seriously.
