I've got three Valentines this year, and here's one of them:
This guy just keeps getting cuter and cuter! I can't get enough of this chubby little face.Even though his cough still lingers, this week the congestion is pretty much gone! These silly colds sure do drag on for a while. I feel like I've been talking about it since the beginning of January.
Silas' tongue is his new favorite toy. That and blowing raspberries. His constantly sticking it in and out of his mouth and twisting it all around. This leads to blowing raspberries.
He's even got a few toys that he is strong enough to hold on to and bring to his mouth.
You may be noticing in the pictures above that we've got a new look going on. Instead of fighting with Silas' hair to try to get it to lay down, I'm letting it win! After a bath, if I just give it a good scrunch, this happens.
So we're just going with it. Silas doesn't care too much one way or the other.
Speaking of hair, I've reached the point that mine is falling out like crazy. I find it all over me, the boys, and everyone else who steps in my house. BEWARE!
Another change this week is Silas' wardrobe. We moved up to size 3-6 months. I'd been trying to squeeze him into all his clothes for a while. Then it hit me that I should just move on up! It's sad saying goodbye to some of the clothes, but it's fun having a whole new wardrobe to pick from. If you can't tell, since my wardrobe hasn't changed much in the last 3 years, I live vicariously through my sons.
Perhaps the most exciting part of this week, for Mom, was Silas moving to 12 hours of consecutive sleep at night!!! After a few mornings of him waking between 6:00 and 6:30 am, I began to think that his dreamfeed was messing with his night time sleep. I decided to test my theory on Thursday night when I knew I would be out past his normal dreamfeed time. Instead of waking him when I got home, I just let him sleep it through. He made it all the way to 7:00 am. The next night he went even longer. And this morning, I had to wake him at 7:30 to eat. I can now go to bed by 9:00 pm if I so choose!
Naps were not the greatest this week. I kept going back and forth about whether I would or wouldn't swaddle him. Several naps, unswaddled, he would wake after 45 minutes and have a hard time falling back to sleep. So I decided to swaddle him again. He still woke up. On Friday, I decided to do it. I put him down on his stomach. He's slept perfectly since then. I decided I'll handle rolling problems if they come. It's worth it to have good naps now!
Here's Silas stroking Daddy's beard Saturday morning.
And here's Amos at 15 weeks. Believe it or not, we took him camping for the first time when he was this old. Silas is falling behind! Hopefully we'll get a good camping trip in this spring.
