silas john's 4th birthday

My second baby is now four, but he has promised me that he is stopping here and will not grow older!  He's the only one who I can get to agree to this.  Although, I think he has a sneaky suspicion that it's not going to work.

With a four year old, a count down was in order.  Once October rolled around, Silas started asking if it was his birthday tomorrow.  Too bad he had the whole month to wait.  With a week to go, we stuck up a quick countdown and each morning he would come tell me, with a big smile on his face, how many days until his birthday.

He decided to sleep his underwear that night, but he was super excited to come down and find the surprises left for him

The balloon may have been one of his favorite things from his birthday,  Thank you Dollar Tree!

Birthday's mean Birthday waffles!  Silas was really playing up the whole birthday thing.

After Jason got off work, we met him at the library.  Apparently, this was Silas' favorite part of the day. 

And then the pet store.  This is where Silas currently likes animals.  Behind glass.

Pizza was on the menu for supper!  

And brownies and icecream and presents after.

Silas is so observant and quite the thinker.  He's also silly and playful!  And we love him!

Saturday brought friends and family for a SUPERHERO PARTY!

Spiderman showed up, along with a lot of his gang.

 Plus a lot of wonderful friends!

I love that birthday parties bring my favorite people to my house!

We had a lot of SUPER stations set up around the yard. And the weather decided to cooperate this year.

And we ended the party with a hunt for the 'BAD" guy.  Everyone was geared up with a can of silly string.  24 cans did the job!

halloween 2016

Our last littlest pumpkin squeezed into his costume this year! 

And here are the other three pumpkins!

After reading some books about knights, we thought they would make a fitting costume.  Luckily, we had most of the gear and our costumes came together pretty easy.  Two knights and two dragons!

We hit up the streets in Carthage that are blocked off by the police.  That makes trick or treating with four little ones so much nicer.  

They liked the candy, but they were mesmerized by all the costumes.  They had alittle trouble walking straight for all the looking around they were doing.  Their favorite was an inflated T-Rex!

And we had to stop and have a little bit of the loot.  One in his hand, but he needed one more.  Those eyes.

And our other little dragon rode along pleasantly.

conrad jay - week 24

Our highlight of the week was definitely our trip down to Arkansas to hike in the woods!

We just broke open a new game!  And I think it was a hit!  More Mustache Smash to come.

This guy wanted to practice pee-pee-ing outside.  I think he's got it.  No cleaning up poop or pee!  And we've even ventured out with just underwear on.  He wasn't my easiest to train, but I think he's the earliest.  It helps having so many examples.

Playing at the library.  We try to make it to the library once a week.  His brothers love to play on the computer.  And the train table is Ivan's favorite spot.

Jason had two late nights with Parent Teacher Conferences, but then he had Friday off.  Nana and Papa came down to see us.  We spent most of the day in NW Arkansas.  And then celebrated Papa's birthday with him.

Our hike was beautiful.  However, it became a little too treachourous for our stroller and we quickly abandoned it along the path.  Jason ran back for it at the end.  I think we all got our workouts in that day.  We celebrated with Malts after the hike.

The boys have become quite the climbers.  And maybe a little too daring.

Event this one.  He wanted to go everywhere his brothers went.

And Conrad hung out with me...literally!

We also checked out a bike park with a "natural playground."  Oh, NW Arkansas.  You always impress.

We had a nice laid back Saturday.  The weather was perfect, so we spent most of the morning outside.

Conrad has been perplexing me with only 20-30 minute naps.  After trying a bunch of different things, I finally decided to drop the 4th nap.  He'd sleep bad all day and then konk out at 6:00 for the night/4th nap.  Apparently that was the culprit, because he's slowly moving toward better naps, and later morning wake-time!  Yay!  Also, I dropped the swaddle overnight.  He's definitely the latest to drop it, but I just didn't want to mess with his good night time sleep.  However, it wasn't any big deal.  He slept perfectly fine through-out the night with it off!

And there you have it.  Another week in the books.
