my three little men: week 48

Ivan turned 11 months old this week. He's been super adorable and very independent these days. Sometimes we have to go on an Ivan hunt just to find where he's playing. Most of the time he's looking out the window or in the bathroom. Gotta keep those doors closed.

Our weekend was definitely the highlight. Grammy and Gramps and Isaiah met up with us and we all headed to Silver Dollar City. The weather was perfect. The day was perfect. Plenty of hands to go around!

Silas is saying, "Let me outta here."
Gramps no longer rides roller coasters, so he and Ivan hung out a lot of the day. Ivan even caught a quick nap on his shoulder.

With Silas tall enough to ride all the fun rides, the four of us hit them all up. We rode a bunch that we haven't ridden in the past, because we had to spread the love. I'd been wanting to take this trip for a while where we just ride with the boys. Then, I wasn't torn between riding some of my own rides.

Here we are enjoying our packed lunches.

Here are the brave ones who were willing to get wet.
And the whole family on the carousel.
Ivan liked it so much that Gramps took him for another spin.
Lock 'em up!
Gramps' only request was stopping at Famous Dave's for dinner on the way home! I think we can do that. And please check out Amos' face.

Our other highlight from the week was visiting the Reddings Mill Fire Station. Amos came away telling me about all the dangers of smoke and what you should do if you smell it! Okay!

ivan jude: 11 months

11 for 11

1. This was the month he became one tooth. And he will remain like that for about the next 6 years.

2. Free stander. He can stand unsupported now. Walking is next.

3. Loves to point. As long as we acknowledge that he is, he's happy.

4. His new favoirte place is standing at the windows. He's just barely tall enough to see out of it. But he loves it.

5. Has mastered the art of pulling his socks off. If I put socks on him, they'll be off in a flash.

6. His new game is to lie on his back on the floor an spin around. Always with a big smile on his face.

7. His blanket is a must when sleeping. All my kids seem to attach to something.

8. He still does really good when left with someone else. I might be jinxing next Sunday at church.

9. Still a pretty good eater. His favorite thing to eat is still probably a banana.

10. Trying to repeat words that we say, and sounds we make.

11. Loves being outside. And now with the weather cooling off, we are out with brothers a lot more.

my three little men: week 47

Our highlight this week was definitely our trip to the Pumpkin Patch.  This was a first for all of us.
We started by learning all kinds of new stuff about pumpkins.  Did you know they had belly buttons?

We had some time to kill, so Amos spent the time counting all the picked pumpkins.
 "Cheeser"
 "Screamer"
"Don't take a picture of me, Mom."
On the hay ride!  We enjoyed our bumpy ride!
 And pumpkin picking too!

We also spent time hanging out with friends, hitting up the library and learning about the Israelites escape from Egypt.

We had a fun week, but we are really looking forward to the weekend.  We are expecting beautiful weather for our trip to Silver Dollar City with Grammy and Gramps.

my three little men: week 45 & 46 + catch-up

Last week was a bit of a crazy one. The end of the week was spent travelling, so I missed taking this cutie's picture. He had one major change from the week before. His front tooth got knocked out. I think I took it worst of everybody. He's doing fine, but he's going to be Mr. One Tooth for quite some time. The somewhat ironic part is that his other front tooth popped up last week too.

The end of the week was spent at Nana and Papa's house while I went to a Women's Conference with several friends. The boys had a blast playing with cousins, and I enjoyed some sweet fellowship with friends and learning from God's word.

This week we are definitley playing catch-up. We've taken it pretty easy here at the beginning to try to get back into the groove of normal. Somebody's working on his car noises and driving. He's all boy.

We're learning about Joseph's colorful coat and all kinds of emotions in preschool this week.

Amos loves doing things by and for himself. He's very capable and a good helper. Now days he picks out his clothes and dresses himself. And then picks out Silas' clothes for him. When we show up wearing plaids and stripes, it's not my fault. He also has mastered the carseat and helps by getting SIlas' out too! He sure makes my job easier. He wants to get everything right the first time, and can get very frustrated when he messes up. Sounds like someone I know.

Silas loves to be in the know. He wants to know where were going, when, who's coming, how long?? Anything he can. And then he'll tell you all about it. He's so adorably cute. His little smile. And he knows when to use it too! He throws it around at just the right time. Another fact about Si is that he is so slow. He comes by it naturally...ahem.
