a ball birthday

I think it was my mom who first suggested the idea of a ball birthday for Si, but it was definitely the perfect theme.  Both my boys have loved balls (ball was their first word), but Silas has hung onto that love.  It was fun to see him come outside and see balls everywhere for his birthday.
He had a ball in his hand most of the night.

I tried to keep things fairly laid back, as I didn't want to send myself into labor getting ready for the party.  Luckily, my family was there to help or we might have already had baby #3.  I think the kiddos had a blast, despite the cold.

Once we got the food table set up, all the kids were ready to eat.  I mean, the huge container of cheese balls and cupcakes are pretty hard to resist.  I just wish more of those cheese balls were eaten.

This year Silas was definitely in to unwrapping his presents.  He got some pretty cool things that we are enjoying the week!

We've now made it through all the major events before baby!  I'm still hoping for some time of re-cooperating before baby, but we're definitely feeling more ready for a new baby!  We're trying to soak up the time with just Amos and Silas and come up with a boy baby name, just in case.

I love and hate the last two weeks.  On the one hand, it's such an exciting time, knowing that it could be any day.  Thinking about how I'll go into labor this time and getting ready to experience the miracle all over again.  On the other hand, it's also the most uncomfortable and tiring time of the whole pregnancy.  I cringe each time I'm about to bend over and some days I don't know if I'm going to make it up the stairs one more time.

One way or another, change is in our immediate future, and I love change!  The best is yet to come...
