Well the verdict is in, we all think this guy is pretty "super"!
Here's Conrad Jay in all his glory. 8lbs 7oz 20 1/2 inches long. We had been worried he was going to follow the pattern of being about a pound bigger than the previous brother. Luckily, he did not.
I was going to include his birth story in this post, but then it started to get really long. I'll give it it's own post soon.
Here everyone is excited to come to the hospital. Well, almost everyone...
I couldn't wait to take our newest family picture. We look and feel complete. I know I'm biased, but I think I have 4 of the best boys around and one handsome man!
Our line-up:
We were able to spend 2 whole days (and nights) in the hospital. It sure was a peace to my mind to have doctors and nurses checking Conrad out around the clock. Plus, that left lots of time for visitors.
Ivan's newest thing is identifying his body parts and then your body parts. It worked out perfect for introducing him to Conrad, because he's got hair, fingers, legs and toes too. Just watch out for those eyes.
Plus, we got lots of undivided Conrad time. And we soaked it all up!
Aunt Amelia came and brought Solomon.
Solomon is just about 2 1/2 weeks older than Conrad. I see lots of fun in these two's future. But right now, they're resting.
We took a shot pretty much like this almost 5 years ago. It's hard to believe.
And then Nana and Papa and Emma were able to come and meet the newest Vance. Emma loves babies!
Our celebratory dinner was quite the treat! They sure made us feel special.
Baby feet - not much better than that!
We were excited to go home Thursday. Conrad wasn't a big fan of the carseat, but once in the car, he was out of it.
These boys were super ready for their brother to be home. They couldn't wait to hold him and pet him and pat him and pet him.
One of Dad's favorite things to do.
Amos is in a costume. We were definitely back home.
And this one couldn't be much cuter. He's been so good with Conrad. He just loves saying "baby" and patting his head.
Aunt Audrey came down on Friday and spent the evening and next day with us! It was fun to get to catch up and share our newest member with her.
We won't be too surprised if he's lost all of his hair soon, everybody loves patting it.
The Parks came over and we had a big party on Saturday. All the older cousins played, we ate chinese and enjoyed the beautiful weather! Grammy and Solomon.
Rachel made the trek to Joplin to check out our cutie. It's been so fun to share him with friends and family this week.
We've been so blessed by good meals. Like the one being eaten below. I think he enjoyed it.
And we even caught some sleep smiles! I love that phase when they break out in a little grin.
One of the chart toppers for this week, though, was definitely when Amos brought me this sign he made for Conrad. Conrad, you've got some good big brothers!
