conrad jay - week 41

With a sick baby on Monday, our Valentine's Day didn't go quite as we planned. But by that evening, everyone was feeling better and had Valentine's money burning a hole in their pockets.  We headed to the toy store.  It was a hard choice, but the two older boys settled on some new weapons.  A lazer gun and a light saber.  Ivan couldn't make up his mind, and walked out with his money still intact.

Nana wrote special notes in everyone's cards and Amos read them to everyone.

We celebrated with steaks and dessert.

I wish you could hear Ivan's "Jesus Loves you" song to Conrad.  He was rocking and patting his head, but stood up when I came in.  He sure loves his brother...most of the time.

Lots and lots of food for this guy.  Cheerios and yogurt are still our go-to breakfast.  He also likes pancakes, muffins, and eggs.

This boy was going to town on an apple slice.  He still has no teeth, but he was using that apple like a teether.  Don't worry, I was right there and pulled out any peel he got broken off.  

Jason had to late nights with parent teacher conferences, but then had Friday off.  His whole family came for a visit.  

This was one of the older two boys' favorite spots.  They had fun creating all kinds of lego vehicles.

 Emma was getting out some energy while waiting for it to warm up enough to go outside.

And warm up it did!  We headed to our favorite, Wildcat Glades!

Once again, the boys showed off all their favorite spots.

We sat down for a group picture and realized everyone was staring into the sun!  WHoops!  Lots of smiles anyway!

 Can you believe the weather we were having?  The falls were beautiful.

We were sad to see them go, but in a month we will see them again when we drop off the younger two boys while the rest of us go skiing.

The Corcoran kids brought fun to our Saturday evening!  The kids all played so well together and Mr. Jason was obviously entertaining! These kids LOVE books!

My mom had school off on Monday and my sister was coming to visit so we tagged along too!  Gramps sure got his work-out in pushing this wheelbarrow around.

conrad jay - week 40

Conrad was the quietest bird watcher!

Last week started with the treat of visiting Wildcat Glades with our co-op friends!  Our boys love checking out everything in the Audubon Center and so it was even more fun to share it with friends!  The lovely, Megan Powers, from Megan Powers Photography got these great shots for us.  What a treat!

Ivan's favorite parts were definitely the rabbit and the fish and turtles.  I didn't even know she was taking this one!  Thanks for the sweet moment, Megan!

Conrad did great in his seat!  He's very go with the flow.  He even took a nap towards the end.  Just long enough that he didn't fall asleep in the car on the way home and still napped for nap time!!

After visiting the center, we headed out on a bird walk.  Surprise, surprise, we were too noisy to see any birds, but we did spot a few nests and heard them all around us!

We had a really good size group!  

It seems like most of our highlight reel are from being outside this week!  Who can believe these temperatures?  

Conrad made it out a couple of times too!  He definitely tried to eat some of those leaves and grass, but for the most part, he was just entertained by how they felt.  He's got a new spin move that he continues to improve upon.  Before we know it, everything will be off limits.

I thought we were all better, and then on Friday, Ivan threw up.  Blah!  When will this stomach bug leave us?  It was somewhat short-lived and he seemed back to normal on Saturday, although he continues to have diarrhea!

Jason had been promising a donut run on the first Saturday we were free.  This Saturday happened to be that time.  Amos was the only one who finished his donuts.  

If you were in the are on Saturday, you know that the weather was sooo nice.  We went for a scenic drive and ended up at Neosho's Big Spring park.  What a treat it was.

This picture describes all the boys' reactions to the ducks roaming around.  Amos was chasing them.  Ivan watched warily and Silas ran the other way.

We did some outside work on Sunday!  More time in the sun was good for our spirits.

"Should I put this in my mouth?"  Conrad has done a lot more babbling this week.  He's saying mama and dada.  We also think he's trying to say buh bye!  He sure hears a lot of carrying on, so it's no surprise that he wants to join in!

Monday morning brought an unwelcomed surprised.  Jason was staying home sick because of the stomach bug and Conrad had thrown up in the night.  Which he never cried out about, so I have no idea when it was happen!  It was pretty gross though.

Ivan had his special day yesterday. This involved making a trip to the store, getting a piece of candy and pretending to ride in the mickey car.  He thought it was awesome!

conrad jay - week 39

We're confused...is it spring??

This is how our week started.  Me on the couch, Ivan sleeping on me.  Poor Baby!  He got some stomach virus and didn't really seem back to himself until just yesterday.  As far as stomach viruses go, for him, it was a pretty mild one. He just seemed to feel terrible.  However, it knocked out most of our church's nursery and some got it WAY worse!

We missed our story group on Wednesday and just hung out on the couch some more!

More fun with math! We were finding numbers that added up to 10.  We started with them turned over, but realized quickly that that was a little too advanced for now.

Amos is almost done with his KG handwriting book.  During his rest time, he loves to write stories and make cards for people.  I don't know how many Valentines I have already received!

With Silas, I'm working through  a letter a week.  His writing has come a LONG was this year too!

I thought it would be fun to record our morning time in a time lapse.  It ended up being WAY to distracting for everyone, but here' the little bit we did get.  You can tell Ivan still feels bad here.

No, he's not crawling, but he is moving... a little.  He can woller himself somewhere, but he doesn't do it with any sort of regular motion.

This is a good face to describe him this week.  We went to my parents house Friday night and Saturday and we had our first dose of the dreaded separation anxiety!  It's just a phase.  We will get through it.

It was a short trip, but a good one, at Grammy and Gramps!

While there we got all the ski stuff down to go through! Over spring break, we are going skiing with them and taking the two older boys with us!  It definitely got me excited!

Sunday's weather sent us outside.  It was the perfect evening for taking the family on a bike ride/walk!  Ivan is serious business when he's on his push bike.  He doesn't actually make it go, but he sure thinks he does.

Silas is an old pro at no training wheels now!  When we first got there, we had him practice his stopping maneuver, but then he was off!  Amos was doing all kinds of tricks!  He shouted back, "Dad, did you see me ride with just one hand?"

Conrad is learning to love books!  He gets so excited when we sit down to read together.

More beautiful weather brought time outside with Dad and eating in the sunroom!
